  We introduced the first part of our self portrait work today.  Using a mirror students are asked to look closely at their eyes, ears, nose, mouth and hair.     Focusing on where each facial feature is located.   Using loose parts from different areas of the classroom students had fun choosing which materials they wanted to use to represent certain facial features.   I encourage friends to take time looking at all of the materials on offer.  Review what they have done, and make changes until they feel happy with the final product.   We will continue to call each student to produce a representation of themselves as the week progresses.                           We read two books today.   "Let's make faces" by Hanoch Piven The second book Layla brought in to share with the class, "Minnesota's hidden alphabet" by Joe Rossi. .  What was our questi...

  What was our question of the day? Who has the most pets? What are the two sounds that the letter "C" makes? Our book today was called "Sweet Justice" by Mara Rockliff   Why is Georgia Gilmore a change maker? The kindergarteners have requested help in collecting food for STEP food shelf.  We have two big blue bags in our room and our challenge is to collect a 100 items.  Can we do it? Yes we can!
